This antique Victorian era scalloped crochet trim white cotton chemise dress shift smock summer nightgown dates from the mid 19th century. It is hand stitched made of a white cotton fabric with a scalloped looped crochet lace trim detail edging the top yoke neckline and sleeve cuffs. This women's chemise slip dress smock summer nightgown has a loose fitting straight shift style, is a mid length, with short cap sleeves, a low scoop off the shoulders neckline, a single button closure at the neck and is unlined. The chemise measures 37 inches long, with a 38 inch chest, 50 inch waist, 50 inch hips and is 15 inches wide across the back seams. It is in good condition, only a small slight faint stain and frayed hole on the front top (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana underpinnings wearable art!
